Print Management via Papercut

Effective January 10, 2017, print quotas will be enforced in the libraries, classrooms, and open access machines. The Papercut program was installed in 2014, and print usage has been monitored to review print activity to establish quotas. For background information about the project, please see the NCC Commuter article.

{expander}What is the current student quota?

{expand_begin}

Current student quota is set for $25 per semester which allows 250 sheets or 500 back-to-back prints (black and white).  Quotas are reset at the beginning of each term and unused quota is not available for refund or in future terms.  Quota applies to direct and web print.

{expander}I am not registered for the current semester, can I still print?

Community users can have an account created and purchase sheets by visiting any of the NCC libraries.  Sheets or back-to-back prints cost $0.10 per sheet and are paid in increments of $2, $5, $10, and $15. {expander}How can I find the balance of my print quota?

{expand_begin}

Your print quota is displayed when you have logged into the computer.  You will also be asked to confirm your print request before the amount is deducted from your quota.  You can also check your quote when off-campus by logging into https://papercut.northampton.edu and viewing the summary tab.

{expander}Printers are defaulted to print double-sided. May paper needs to be single-sided.  How do I change this?

{expand_begin}

When printing your document, you MUST change the Printer Properties to one-sided, and not just the print default in settings.  A link to change Printer Properties is typically right under where it shows the printer you will be using for your print job.  See image: Uploaded image
